Meet the Animals
Our Donkeys
Bernice

My name is Bernice and I am the matriarch at Kindness Matters Farm Sanctuary. My buddy and I were rescued from a rough breeding environment. Unfortunately I lost my buddy which was hard for all of us. But I had my son, Acorn and he keeps us all busy with his antics. I keep an eye out for wildlife and threats and have been known to save the Sanctuary friends on numerous occasions. I take a little time to warm up as I feel it is important to assess everyone that visits and I am a bit head shy but as my friend Deidre says, “Bernice is the hero at the Sanctuary!” Also, my buddy Eleanor that we lost was mom to Blossom…so I am her Aunt and I keep an eye out for her since she is my niece!
Acorn

Hi! It's me Acorn. I'm being nosey. If you visit I promise you will love me. I'm super charming and quite full of the beans.. .and if you have a treat...I'll be your best friend FOREVER.
My mom is Bernice...I like to give her a hard time....isn't that what young "boys" are supposed to do.
Blossom

Meet Blossom. She is a very special donkey. She was born here at the sanctuary. Her mom was Eleanor. Eleanor was the perfect mom and Blossom adored her. Unfortunately tragedy struck the farm in Aug 2021 and we lost Eleanor suddenly. Leaving poor 5 month old, still nursing Blossom an orphan. We wrapped her in love and continued to give her special attention as she figured out her donkey world. She is sweet and has the gentlest lips when taking a treat. She tends to be low donk on the hierarchy here so we make sure she gets what she needs. She sticks close to Bernice and Acorn. She is an amazingly sweet precious girl.
Mocha & Renee

We are Mocha (muted)and Renee(deep brown).
Kindness Matters Farm sanctuary adopted us from SYALEDR. We have had 4 homes from Maine to Florida. We were neglectfully overfed and this is dangerous for donkey.
We are both gentle giants!
Kindness Matters FS is working on helping us lose weight so we can be healthier.
We loved to be brushed. We love visitors. Especially calm quiet ones.
We are so happy that we are in a safe loving place to stay.
Meet Our Goats
Bucky
Meet Bucky, formerly Bucket. Bucky joined our farm with his partner in crime Uno ( one horn) from a farm that was shut down. Bucky has a beautiful waddle and enjoys escaping....He said he's an 'Escape goat". We have truly enjoyed this happy fellow.
Uno
They call me Uno! It's all because of the day I challenged a ram through a fence and lost one of my horns. I still think I'm mighty powerful. My buddy is Bucky. Thank goodness Kindness Matters Farm Sanctuary saved us. Our previous farm had 100 animals that needed rescuing when the farm shut down. We were the last 2 left. Not sure why because we are handsome, friendly goaties.
Meet Our Sheep
Fanny, Nelly and Chubs
We are approx 10 year old merino ewes. We came to Kindness Matters Farm Sanctuary after a wool producer kicked us to the curb...we weren't wanted anymore. We had at least 2 years of wool on us when rescued. We had a nice shearing and then landed gently at this sanctuary. We love it! We rest. Then eat grass, then rest some more and then eat more...and wander the beautiful pasture.
Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to Fanny fall of 2024. She lived a cherished life with us and will be missed.
Please support Kindness Matters farm sanctuary...so unwanted cuties like us have a place to live out our years.
We are a 501c3 non profit sanctuary and 100% of donations goes directly to help our farm friends.
